Our Team has taken a ‘grass-roots’ approach in unveiling initial Community Outreach efforts related to the General Plan Update/PlanHP.
To date, the General Plan Update team has attended the City’s Halloween Festival, introducing the upcoming General Plan Update to residents in attendance, as well as promoting the importance of community involvement and participation in future outreach workshops. The team actively engaged residents by encouraging them to visit the City’s website and participating in surveys and online polls, providing feedback to future recommendations related to a draft Environmental Impact Report, and sharing website/event information on their own social networking platforms.
Plan HP is committed to disseminating as much information regarding the project and educating as many residents as possible; engaging High School Students and respective Parents, approaching Senior Housing Developments, and communicating with local public services such as the Department of Parks and Recreation, Library, as well as other community activists (such as Communities for Better Environment (CBE)). By utilizing the strong public, it can be the most effective with engaging and involving residence within the given short span of time.
PlanHP is currently developing an abbreviated Spring curriculum, in conjunction with the local high school, that is intended not only to educate the students about General Plan Updates but will also actively involve the students in the process. More detailed information will be provided as the curriculum is finalized.
