PlanHP is pleased to announce the Youth Plan Huntington Park (YPHP) Initiative! Our team has presented to Marquez High School and the youth group from Communities for Better Environment (CBE). During the presentation, we provided a quick explanation of the General Plan process and how the youth can become involved in YPHP.
YPHP is a program designed to enlist local youths and involve them in the ongoing outreach and advocacy for PlanHP. Students who are interested in the General Plan process, planning, community advocacy, and survey tracking will be trained to make a difference in their community. Over a course of several group meetings, they will become ambassadors of the PlanHP effort, and help influence change in their neighborhood.
Interested students can submit a paper form or electronically via planhp.com. Feedback from local youths has been very positive – even youth from outside HP are interested in becoming involved.
